Rebecca Minkoff fall 2013 Ad Campaign

Minkoff’s fall 2013 campaign, she wanted something a little more playful. Rebecca Minkoff is taking a primarily digital approach to her fall advertising. Rebecca Minkoff has always been a woman ahead of the game; foreseeing the fashion technology revolution with her speaker clutch and extending her line to the beauty department are sure signs that this designer knows how to stay one step ahead of the industry’s trends. Her budget, which is up 200 percent from a year ago, will be allocated to Web sites, among other fashion and media sites. The campaign, which begins in August, features model Aline Weber and was photographed by Ben Weller in Brooklyn.

We thought Aline perfectly exemplified the Rebecca Minkoff girl...cool, confident, fun-loving, with great personal style,” said Minkoff. She said she wanted to show a more playful edge this season, and used an up-and-coming illustrator, Madeleine Carroll and “cool collage effect.”

She’s super active on social media and just launched an initiative with Tumblr and Nordstrom that will provide customers with product the same day that she sends in down the runway. Now, she’s tapping into that same savvy with her fall campaign. At first glance, the campaign’s artwork looks like pages pulled from a notebook of doodles, as illustrator Madeleine Carrol's work reminds us of school-time sketches, but they also happen to complement the playful edge of Minkoff's collection.
