Royal Baby
The just-born royal baby has been our sole preoccupation the past a week. Like Chrissy Teigen said, this baby is not only Kate and Will's, but the entire world's. And we couldn't be more excited to celebrate one of the cutest little guys we've seen."We wish the Duke & Duchess of Cambridge, many congratulations on the birth of their son."
Appearing on the steps of the Lindo Wing with his proud parents, the newborn was presented to the world in a white shawl by GH Hurt & Son in Nottingham, the same company that made William's blanket 31 years ago, and reportedly also that used for Prince Charles in 1948."We were so delighted when the royal couple emerged from St Mary's Hospital with their newborn son wrapped in one of our traditional hand-finished shawls," she said. "We're working incredibly hard. It's taken us by surprise because we're a small family firm of less than 20 employees." Then, of course, there is Kate's blue polka dot dress. The Duchess is proving to be no less of a fashion force now that she is a mother.
Royal Baby's Name Revealed:
The royal baby name is here: George Alexander Louis. That makes the new baby's name, including his title, HRH Prince George of Cambridge.
Royal Highness Prince George Alexander Louis of Cambridge! Kate Middleton and Prince William revealed their baby name via a statement through Kensington Palace on Wednesday, only two days after Middleton gave birth.
The statement read: “The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are delighted to announce that they have named their son George Alexander Louis. The baby will be known as His Royal Highness Prince George of Cambridge.”
According to Pamela Redmond Satran, a co-founder of the baby-name website Nameberry, in the past three centuries more kings have been named George than any other name. “It’s a regal choice and appropriate for the royal baby,” she said. "And of course the name Cambridge is fitting since his parents are the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge."
Nickname:
Proud grandfather Prince Charles said yesterday the baby prince “will be known as Georgie in no time” – a moniker the Daily Beast suggested would be necessary since “Prince George Alexander Louis of Cambridge is a bit of a mouthful”.Scroll through to check out the photos we could catch of the royal stunner!
